9 Ideas To Change Up Group This Week

Next week is week 26 of our 28 week Community Group year. With just 3 weeks left until the summer break, sometimes the routine of group can become more of a chore than a highlight of the week.

Though we keep the same routine, some weeks people are more engaged than others. Some weeks people are more open than others. Some weeks people laugh more. Some weeks people cry more. Some weeks people finally take that next step of obedience in their relationship with Jesus. No week is the same.

Sometimes changing up group for a week provides an opportunity to better engage with each other in group. We believe life change happens best in the context of community, but community doesn't need to look the same from week to week.

As we near the end of a new groups year, here are 9 ideas to change up your group for a week:

1. Go to the Lilac Festival (May 6-15)
2. Do a service project at the church or in the community
3. Have a game night
4. Go bowling together
5. Help a group member or neighbor in need (moving, yardwork, providing meals)
6. Attend a sporting event, play, or concert of a group member or their child
7. Skip sermon discussion/weekly curriculum and take turns sharing your faith story (1 person, 1 place, 1 event that shaped your faith)
8. Have dinner and celebrate communion together (We will provide some resources for this next week)
9. Go LARPing

Let your group coach know if you have any questions about any of the opportunities above. We'd love to help. We look forward to hanging out with you at the end of the year Group Leaders Picnic in 4 weeks (Saturday, June 4th).
