4 Important Details For This Community Group Trimester

As we wrap up our holiday break, I wanted to send you several important details as you plan ahead for your group this trimester.

Please take note of the following as you communicate with your group and plan what your group will be discussing.

Trimester Dates

Group Leader Vision Night at Brighton Campus - February 26th

As we look toward the launch of our Brighton Campus this fall, we want you as our Group Leaders to be the first see the facility, hear all of the details, and hear your questions and feedback.

We are shifting our Re:Group Leader Night to a Brighton Campus Vision Night with all Group Leaders on February 26th from 5-6:30pm.

We'll be meeting on location (2090 S. Clinton) at the facility that night. Dinner and childcare will be provided.

Save the date now so you can join us that evening!

We are asking all groups to discuss the Mountain Mover series March 5th - 26th as we cast vision to our church about our Brighton Campus. See more details below.

Pick Up Your Free Box of Story Cards - Share Your Stories

One of the dangers of Community Group is that we can talk about a lot of important things we should know but we can fail to know each other.

We can spend weeks, months, or even years with people in our groups, and yet not really know each other. We may know the general pieces of their life, their names, kids names, careers, and interests, but we don't know the big pieces of each others lives that have really shaped who we are and what we struggle with.

Until we are really known, groups will often be ineffective spaces to really help each other apply the Bible to our lives.

Group Leader Essential #2 is to Cultivate Relationships. One of the primary purposes of groups is to create a space where people can be truly known and loved.

One of the best ways to get beyond surface level relationships is to take a break from a study or sermon discussion, and to share your stories.

To make that easier for you, we have purchased a box of story cards for every group to use.

You can pick up a box of Story Cards this weekend in the volunteer HQ at your campus.

  • Rochester Volunteer HQ is located above the fireplace in the lobby.

  • Webster Volunteer HQ is located to the right of the main entrance.

  • Please only take 1 box per group. Coordinate with your leaders who will grab the box.

Consider using story cards the first several weeks of this trimester to have your group members share their stories with each other.
